Who is this course for?
The course is aimed at installers and service engineers who are in possession of existing Gas (ACS) CCN1 qualifications and who are seeking to gain access to the relevant appliance assessment. No training will be given for this element.
Entry Requirements
For Initial candidates: All operatives requiring appliance initial assessment must be able to produce a current valid ACS CCN1 certificate and evidence that candidate has completed some training and work experience for the area concerned .
For Re-assessment candidates: Must be able to provide a current ACS Core/appliance/element certificate.
What will you learn?
Assessment content includes:
- Types of appliances and Operating principles
- Pre-installation checks
- Installation of Appliances
- Testing and Commissioning of Appliances
- Servicing, Fault Finding and Repair
- Identification of Unsafe Situations
- Operation and Checking of Appliance Safety Devices and Controls
How will you learn?
This course will be delivered on-site.
What will you need to bring with you?
Recommend that all candidates complete self study revision for the area concerned and /or attend arranged bespoke training with Derby college prior to assessment.
How will you be assessed?
Assessment is in the gas assessment centre under strict assessment conditions Both theory and practical are assessed by multi-choice and short written answers.
Where next?
Enables registration on the gas safe register for the prescribed area. This then allow the type of work to be undertaken.
