Who is this course for?
This course is for candidates who have completed a formal approved training course which allows entry to gas ACS assessment. eg BPEC Gas Foundation. This assessment is for candidates who have never been gas safe registered before and have finished there training and are ready to undertake the CCN1 elements of the gas assessments or renewing certificates which have expired more the 12 months previously.
Entry Requirements
Any candidate wishing to undertake the ACS assessments will need to demonstrate they have undertaken a recognised training programme and have a supporting portfolio of onsite work experience with a registered gas engineer (will be verified).
What will you learn?
Initial Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) assessment covers:
- Gas safety regulations and other relevant legislation
- Combustion, relevant pressures and gas rates
- Gas pipe work
- Tightness testing and purging, including low and medium pressure
- Chimney systems recognition and testing
- Ventilation
- Gas controls
- Flue gas analysis
How will you learn?
This course will be delivered on-site.
What will you need to bring with you?
Recommend that all candidates complete self study revision for the area concerned and /or attend arranged bespoke training with Derby college prior to assessment.
How will you be assessed?
Assessment is in the gas assessment centre under strict assessment conditions Both theory and practical are assessed by multi-choice and short written answers.
Where next?
Enables registration on the gas safe register for the prescribed area. This then allow the type of work to be undertaken.
