This experience aims to provide learners with an opportunity to meet and greet their chosen animals. Learners will get to feed their chosen animals, learn about their health and husbandry care, provide enrichment for them and handle them (where applicable).

Who is this course for?
This experience aims to provide learners with an opportunity to meet and greet their chosen animals. Learners will get to feed their chosen animals, learn about their health and husbandry care, provide enrichment for them and handle them (where applicable).
The choices are:
- Zoo animals – wallabies, meerkats, skunk and porcupines
- Reptiles – lizards, snakes, tortoises and tarantulas
- Small mammals – rabbits, guinea-pigs, chinchillas and rodents
- Farm animals – goats, pigs, alpacas and donkeys

Entry Requirements
You need basic literacy and numeracy skills plus some basic knowledge of animal care. You should be aged eight years or over.
What will you learn?
The course will cover:
- Meet and greet
- Feeding the animals
- Handling (where applicable)
- An informative talk
- Enrichment building
How will you learn?
This course will be delivered on-site.
What will you need to bring with you?
You will be required to supply your own boots or wellingtons – preferably steel toe capped. Alternatively you can borrow some from the animal unit.
How will you be assessed?
There is no assessment.
