Entry Requirements
You should have a genuine interest in dogs and should be keen to establish an understanding of canine first aid.
What will you learn?
The course will cover:
- Correct use and application of equipment
- Normal and abnormal signs of health in dogs
- First aid – what it is and what is involved, including scene assessment and barrier use
- Normal values of temperature, pulse and respiration, theory and practical
- Restraint methods
- First aid situations
- Bandaging: theory and practical
- CPR theory and practical
How will you learn?
This course will be delivered on-site.
What will you need to bring with you?
You will be required to supply your own:
- Sensible closed-toe flat footwear
- Sensible clothing
- Writing materials
- Refreshments
How will you be assessed?
Assessment is by observation of your practical performance throughout the day.
