Employability Practitioner Apprenticeship – Level 4
The broad purpose of the Employability Practitioner occupation is to work with those individuals (service users) who are distanced furthest from the labour market, helping them to address and overcome obstacles to securing suitable and sustainable employment.

Who is this course for?
The broad purpose of the Employability Practitioner occupation is to work with those individuals (service users) who are distanced furthest from the labour market, helping them to address and overcome obstacles to securing suitable and sustainable employment.
Employability Practitioners may specialise in working with a specific group of service users and will devise strategies to address and overcome multiple and complex barriers to employment, and to improve each individual’s employability prospects, with the end goal being to find employment or to progress in work if they are already employed.
This role requires a broad appreciation of the types of public services, community offerings and funding streams available and an understanding of how these fit together so that a bespoke plan of support can be put in place that takes a holistic approach to the service user.
The apprenticeship includes:
- Level 2 Maths and English, unless the apprentice is exempt
- 20% off the job training to be logged
- An end-point assessment
Entry Requirements
The apprentice should:
- be aged over 18
- have GCSEs graded A-C (9-4) or Level 2 Functional Skills
- be employed for more than 30 hours per week in an Employability Practitioner role

You need a laptop to access the e-portfolio.
How will you be assessed?
You will be assessed via:
- observations
- questioning
- professional discussion
- products of work and witness testimonies
- External assessment
You will be allocated an assessor who will support you throughout the course.

You could progress to a Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification.

Are they any entry requirements for my apprentice?
The apprentice should be contracted for more than 30 hours per week to work as an Employability Practitioner.
They need GCSEs graded A-C (9-4) in English and Maths.
What is required from the employer in the workplace?
- Support and training for a minimum of 20% per week
- Paid attendance at College if applicable
- 30 hours contract
- Completion of reviews with the apprentice and the assessor

They can progress to a Level 5 qualification.
