Course Information for Students

This course has been designed for students who work – or want to work – in holiday centres, tour operator companies, travel agencies, tourist information centres, tourist attractions, cruise line companies or conference and events organisations.

You will need a minimum of either Maths or English GCSE at grade C (4)  plus Maths or English GCSE at grade D (3) plus two other GCSEs at grade D (3).

It is essential that you show a commitment to maintaining high standards of attendance and meeting deadlines.

If you are a mature student, we may be able to take into consideration your previous experience in your chosen subject.

You will cover a variety of units:

  • The UK travel and tourism sector
  • UK travel and tourism destinations
  • International travel and tourism destinations
  • Travel and tourism business environments
  • Delivering the travel and tourism customer experience
  • Marketing in travel and tourism
  • Airports and airlines

This course will be delivered on-site.

All students are required to wear the standard uniform which you can order  during enrolment. The cost is approximately £135, including a jacket, skirt for ladies and trousers for men, a shirt and either a tie or scarf. 

You may be able to secure financial support towards the cost of the uniform.

There will also be a nominal charge for trips and visits.

You will be assessed via practical tasks, tests and assignments.

Further Study

You can advance to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Aviation.

Careers

You can explore roles such as travel agent, tour operator, rep in a holiday centre and tourist information officer as well as jobs on cruise liners, with tourist attractions and with conference or events organisations.
