This course is for individuals who would like to learn about canine first aid and the steps you take in a first aid emergency. Our Canine First Aid course is a great way to understand some of the basic measures that can be put into action. On completion of the course, you will be issued with a College certificate.

This course is for individuals who would like to learn about canine first aid and the steps you take in a first aid emergency.

Entry Requirements
You should have a genuine interest in dogs and should be keen to establish an understanding of canine first aid.
What will you learn?
The course will cover:
- First aid procedures including scene assessment and barrier use
- CPR and rescue breathing and practical
- Choking
- Control of serious bleeding
- Shock management
- Spinal injury management
- Stabilisation of fractures
- Bandage theory and practical
- Normal values: temperature, pulse, respiration, theory and practical
How will you learn?
This course will be delivered on-site.
What will you need to bring with you?
You will be required to supply your own:
- Sensible closed-toe flat footwear
- Sensible clothing
- Writing materials
- Refreshments
How will you be assessed?
Assessment is by observation of your practical performance throughout the day.
