Entry Requirements
You should be employed for 30 hours or more in a barbering shop which has facilities for wet shaving.
You should be keen to pursue a career in barbering.

What will you need to bring with you?
If you are over 18, the employer will pay £1400.
You will need equipment for barbering.

Are they any entry requirements for my apprentice?
They should want to pursue a career in barbering, have a professional attitude and have excellent interpersonal skills and time management.
What is required from the employer in the workplace?
The apprentice needs a contract for a minimium of 30 hours, including their time at College and they should be paid to attend College.
You should also provide:
- Training and support
- Time with the assessor
- Wet shaving facilities and a sink with running water

What qualification will my apprentice gain?
- Diploma in Barbering Level 2

The apprentice will be assigned an assessor who will support them throughout the course.
Will my apprentice need to come into college?
Yes, if they are not exempt for Functional Skills and if the salon does not have the capacity to complete all of the training. College is part of the apprentice’s working week and they should be paid for attendance. College attendance is on a Monday.

- Barbering equipment
- Laptop to access their online portfolio
- Running water enabling wet shaving
What progression can my apprentice expect after completion of their apprenticeship?
They can advance to a Level 3 qualification.
