Course Information for Students

You will gain a variety of practical skills such as preparing surfaces, painting, wallpapering and decorative effects. Your practical skills will be supported academically in the classroom with theory lessons and tests.

Offers of a place on the course are dependent on your qualifications. These should include a Level 2 Painting and Decorating qualification and Maths/English. You will need a successful interview and initial assessment results.

The course content will develop your practical and academic skills for roles within the painting and decorating industry. 

You will gain a variety of practical skills such as preparing surfaces, painting, wallpapering and decorative effects. Your practical skills will be supported academically in the classroom with theory lessons and tests.

You will learn on-site 

Students will be expected to wear College uniforms and you will need to supply your own safety footwear.  A small charge may be made for other Personal Protective Equipment required to complete the course.

Practical synoptic assessments are guided by City & Guilds. Final summative written assessments will be undertaken as scheduled by the awarding body.

You could progress to an apprenticeship within the industry, to employment or to self-employment.
