Who is this course for?
The main duties and tasks of a Surveying Technician are:
To collect information from inspections or visits to buildings, land and construction sites
To take appropriate measurements of buildings, land or plans
To meet with other professionals, clients, customers and others to obtain and provide information relating to land, property or construction
To collect and record data relating to land, buildings or construction for technical use
To manage work tasks relating to the area of practice
To undertake costings and/or measurements and/or valuations using data collected from research
To ensure a safe working environment for themselves and others
Entry Requirements
The entry requirement for the apprenticeship will be five GCSEs at grade C/4 or higher, including Maths and English.

How will you learn?
This course will be delivered in the workplace and on-site.
What will you need to bring with you?
No but PPE is a mandatory requirement
How will you be assessed?
On-programme assessment is used to monitor progress in the acquisition of knowledge, skills and experience. This normally includes two elements:
a) A mandatory Level 3 Diploma comprising core and optional units.
b) The presentation of a portfolio of evidence (which will not form part of the Diploma). This will be assessed by Assessors who are either qualified NVQ Assessors or who are active and trained Assessors for the RICS Associate assessment.
Apprentices without Level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment.
The end-point assessment is the RICS Associate assessment. This is a substantial piece of work, typically taking around three months to complete and will include:
A 3000-word summary of experience
A 2500-word case study
A record of a minimum of 48 hours of continuing professional development undertaken during the last 12 months
An ethics test

Are they any entry requirements for my apprentice?
The entry requirement for the apprenticeship will be five GCSEs at grade C/4 or higher, including Maths and English.
What is required from the employer in the workplace?
DCG, the apprentice and the employer will complete a thorough skillscan to ensure this is the correct programme and level; will complete regular reviews; and will ensure all knowledge, skills and behaviours are met prior to the end-point assessment.

What qualification will my apprentice gain?
BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment

No. However, PPE is a mandatory requirement.
