A career in farming for Craig

Craig Gavagan from Breaston was the first Agriculture apprentice at Broomfield Hall – learning new skills while working on our farm which boasts a wide range of livestock.

Craig, a former pupil at Friesland School in Sandiacre, had originally planned to do A-levels but decided to take a different route to success after seeing the apprenticeship advertised.

I didn’t know anything about farming life before coming here but I never want to work in any other industry now. I love working with the livestock and machinery and I hope that the qualifications I gain as part of the apprenticeship will help me get a job after the programme finishes.
